Kazakhstan busts $16.5 million electricity fraud case involving cryptocurrency miners
according to Bitcoin.com News, Kazakhstan has cracked down on a $16.5 million electricity fraud case related to cryptocurrency miners. An energy company illegally supplied power to mining operations - which lasted for a full two years, miners were supposed to only be able to purchase remaining electricity through the energy department's platform - but these regulations were ignored.
