Ukrainian Presidential Advisor: Ceasefire Must Precede Negotiations to End Russia-Ukraine Conflict
BlockBeats News, August 16 — Serhiy Leshchenko, Advisor to the Head of the Office of the President of Ukraine, issued a statement on social media on August 16 regarding the methods and approaches to ending the Russia-Ukraine conflict. Leshchenko stated that Ukraine firmly believes a ceasefire must be achieved first, followed by subsequent negotiations.
Leshchenko made it clear that Ukraine’s position is unequivocal: ceasefire first, then further discussions. The reason, he explained, is that entering negotiations before a ceasefire would expose Ukraine to significant risks of extortion. Only by achieving a genuine ceasefire can the necessary space for diplomatic activities be created. (Jin10)
