Ethereum holdings surpass 2.1 Million tokens

As of September 14, BitMine reported 2,151,676 ETH valued at $4,632 per token, alongside 192 BTC, $569 million in cash, and a $214 million stake in Eightco (NASDAQ: ORBS). This ETH accumulation strategy places BitMine ahead of all other corporate holders, with only Strategy Inc. (MSTR) maintaining a larger overall crypto position through its Bitcoin reserves.

Chairman Thomas “Tom” Lee emphasized Ethereum’s central role in reshaping finance, describing the firm’s pursuit of owning 5% of total ETH supply as “the alchemy of 5%.” Lee linked Ethereum’s trajectory to the convergence of Wall Street adoption and advances in AI, suggesting the token is positioned to anchor long-term macro investment trends.

Market impact and institutional backing

BitMine has quickly become one of the most traded U.S. stocks, averaging $2 billion in daily turnover, ranking it 28th nationwide. Institutional investors, including ARK Invest’s Cathie Wood, Pantera Capital, Galaxy Digital, and Founders Fund, continue to back the company’s strategy, further legitimizing its market position.

Lee compared today’s blockchain-driven shift to the 1971 U.S. exit from the gold standard, noting both as catalysts for sweeping financial transformations. “Ethereum remains one of the biggest macro trades of the next decade,” he said, highlighting how tokenization, AI, and regulatory advances could accelerate adoption.

With a nearly $11 billion balance sheet anchored in digital assets , BitMine is positioning itself as a central force in the institutionalization of Ethereum and the broader crypto economy.

Notably, BitMine recently unveiled a $1 billion stock repurchase program, underscoring its commitment to shareholder returns while reinforcing its long-term positioning in digital assets.
