New York City mayoral candidate Andrew Cuomo plans to make New York a cryptocurrency hub
According to Jinse Finance, crypto journalist Eleanor Terrett has revealed that New York City mayoral candidate Andrew Cuomo (@andrewcuomo) plans to turn New York into a cryptocurrency hub. The former New York State governor, now a mayoral candidate, intends to announce that if elected, he will establish the position of "Chief Innovation Officer" (CIO), dedicated to making New York City the "global center of the future." The Chief Innovation Officer will coordinate initiatives across New York City government agencies in the fields of blockchain, artificial intelligence (AI), and biotechnology, aiming to attract jobs and investment, and to advance the city's modernization in the application and integration of new technologies. Reportedly, Cuomo's plan also includes forming an "Innovation Council," which will consist of three advisory groups responsible for the fields of cryptocurrency, AI, and biotechnology. This council will provide expert advice on the promotion of technology applications in these emerging industries, workforce development, and streamlining administrative processes (reducing red tape).
