Last week, Apple rolled out the first beta of iOS 26.2, bringing a range of enhancements. These include letting users personalize the Liquid Glass style for the Lock Screen clock, setting alarms directly in the Reminders app, and introducing live translation for EU users, among other updates.

The official iOS 26.2 release is anticipated to arrive in December.

Apple’s refreshed Liquid Glass interface is still being refined. The latest beta introduces a slider that allows users to control how transparent the Lock Screen clock appears. With this tool, you can make the clock almost invisible or give it a more frosted effect. There’s also still an option to disable Liquid Glass entirely.

Another notable addition is the ability to set alarms for reminders. When you create a reminder, selecting a time and turning on the “Urgent” setting will cause an alarm to sound at the chosen moment. This feature, long requested by users, is designed to help people stay organized and avoid missing key tasks.

Apple also announced last week that live translation for AirPods will be coming to EU users with iOS 26.2. Now, when someone speaks in a different language, Siri can translate the conversation through your AirPods. This capability was first introduced in the U.S. and some other regions with iOS 26, but EU users had to wait until iOS 26.2 as Apple needed extra time to comply with the EU’s Digital Markets Act.

The Apple News app is also getting a new “Following” section in the bottom menu, where users can find their favorites, saved articles, and reading history. New shortcuts will also be available for quick access to categories like Food, Politics, Puzzles, and Sports.

Apple Podcasts is receiving upgrades as well, such as AI-generated chapters for episodes. There’s also a new Podcast Mentions feature, which automatically adds a link in the episode description if a host talks about another show.

Additional improvements include offline lyric viewing in Apple Music, allowing users to read song lyrics without an internet connection. The iPhone’s display can now flash when a notification arrives, a setting that can be enabled in the Accessibility section of the Settings app.
