After five months, shipments of the $1,200 Besties All-In tequila bottles are at last beginning to go out

At a glamorous event last June, the hosts of the widely-followed All-In podcast introduced their own tequila label, and all 750 bottles of the $1,200 drink sold out in no time. However, delivering those bottles to buyers turned out to be more challenging than anticipated.

According to Jason Calacanis, one of the podcast’s hosts, the eagerly anticipated Besties All-In tequila finally started shipping to customers last week, ending a wait that lasted nearly five months, as he shared with TechCrunch.

Calacanis explained that the delay was due to the distinctive bottle: “The handcrafted bottles took longer to produce than we thought, but shipments began last week!” The bottle, created as a collectible, resembles a stack of poker chips glowing from below, paying tribute to poker—a favorite hobby of the podcast hosts alongside tequila tasting.

Customers were initially told to expect their orders by the end of summer. However, summer passed without delivery. In addition to the $1,200 price tag, buyers also covered taxes and extra charges.

A TechCrunch reader reported that the delivery date kept getting postponed: first to October, then November, and most recently, one customer was informed it would arrive “after November,” based on a letter from distributor Flaviar, the company managing the shipments, that TechCrunch reviewed.

Both the official product website and Flaviar’s updates mirrored these changing schedules—the website initially stated deliveries would happen by summer’s end, but now notes that shipments will “start in November.” The letter from Flaviar mentioned that orders were being sent out in groups.

Although it remains uncertain how long it will take for all orders to be fulfilled, it’s clear that shipping is underway and the cause of the delay has been identified. With some luck, fans of the All-In podcast—whether they’re venture capital enthusiasts, podcast regulars, or “besties”—will be able to enjoy the exclusive, artisanal tequila during the holidays ahead.

Flaviar has yet to reply to our inquiry for a statement.
