IBM to acquire Confluent for $9.3 billion to expand AI services
Jinse Finance reported that IBM will acquire data streaming platform Confluent Inc. for approximately $9.3 billion, making it one of its largest acquisitions to date and a significant bet on enterprise software required for real-time execution of artificial intelligence tools. According to a statement released on Monday, IBM will acquire Confluent at $31 per share. The statement said the enterprise value, including debt, is $11 billion. Both parties expect the deal to be completed by mid-2026. According to the accompanying regulatory filing, if the deal fails or is terminated, IBM will pay Confluent a breakup fee of $453.6 million.
