On Tuesday, Google Photos introduced a suite of new features designed to simplify video editing and streamline the creation of highlight reels. Among the updates are specialized templates that come with built-in music and text overlays, as well as a revamped video editing interface.

These templates, which are currently being released for Android users, enable individuals to quickly assemble polished highlight reels. By selecting a template and choosing their preferred photos and videos, users can let Google Photos automatically craft a video that syncs perfectly with the chosen music.

Effortless Highlight Reel Creation

The latest update makes it even easier and faster to put together highlight reels—collections of memorable photos and clips, such as those from trips or special occasions. To start, users simply navigate to the Create tab and select “Highlight Video.”

Google has also rolled out a redesigned video editor, now available on both Android and iOS. This new editor is built for ease of use, featuring a universal timeline that displays all video segments and content together.
