The city has been implementing its "Plan ₿" project, which is a collaboration with USDT issuer Tether, aiming to build the infrastructure for Bitcoin in daily life. Merchants are participating because the transaction fees on the Bitcoin Lightning Network are typically less than 1%, compared to an average fee of about 3% for credit card networks.
