Global grain surplus leads to a decline in grain futures prices
Show original
According to Golden Ten Data on January 3, expectations of ample supply are putting pressure on grain futures prices for 2026. Private consulting firm AgResource pointed out that in the 2025-26 season, global wheat exporters will produce an additional 1.1 billions bushels of grain, while Brazil is expected to harvest a record soybean crop, and both the United States and Argentina will also see record-large corn harvests. It is anticipated that mild temperatures in India will result in a wheat harvest exceeding 120 millions (tons), and rainfall in Argentina is expected to meet demand.
