CATL delivers impressive results in its first year of major investment in battery swapping, aiming to build nearly 4,000 stations by next year.

According to Golden Ten Data on January 3, at the 2024 year-end Chocolate Battery Swap Ecosystem Conference, CATL officially demonstrated its determination to make a major entry into the battery swap business. One year later, “King Ning” has delivered its annual “report card” for battery swap infrastructure construction. According to the latest data, in just the past year, CATL’s Chocolate Battery Swap and Qiji Battery Swap have built 1,020 and 305 battery swap stations, respectively. The Chocolate Battery Swap targets passenger vehicles, while Qiji Battery Swap is aimed at heavy-duty trucks. CATL revealed that by 2026, it will have cumulatively built nearly 4,000 battery swap stations. Among them, the Chocolate Battery Swap plans to build over 3,000 battery swap stations across more than 140 cities, while simultaneously launching the construction of a highway network. The long-term goal is 30,000 stations, and a franchise program will be opened. Qiji Battery Swap plans to build a total of 900 stations by 2026, expanding trunk lines to the “Five Horizontals and Five Verticals,” and plans to establish a “Eight Horizontals and Ten Verticals” green network covering 80% of the national trunk transport capacity by 2030.
