Kodiak partners with Bosch to expand its autonomous trucking technology
Kodiak AI and Bosch Partner to Advance Autonomous Truck Technology
Kodiak AI, a leader in self-driving truck innovation, has revealed a new partnership with global automotive supplier Bosch to create an integrated hardware and software platform that can transform conventional semi-trucks into autonomous vehicles.
This collaboration was unveiled at the 2026 Consumer Electronics Show in Las Vegas, signaling a significant step forward in Kodiak’s efforts to accelerate the deployment of its autonomous driving solutions across a broader range of trucks.
Specializing in autonomous vehicles for highways, industrial applications, and defense, Kodiak has already engineered a self-driving system featuring redundant safety mechanisms for braking, steering, sensors, and onboard computers. In January 2025, Kodiak’s autonomous trucks began operating without drivers, delivering shipments for Atlas Energy Solutions in the Permian Basin, which spans West Texas and eastern New Mexico.
Since then, Kodiak has supplied at least eight autonomous trucks to Atlas Energy as part of an initial order for 100 vehicles, with Roush Industries handling the upfitting process for these driverless trucks.
Following its public listing through a merger with Ares Acquisition Corporation II in September 2025, Kodiak is now aiming to make its autonomous technology accessible to a larger segment of the trucking industry.
The joint effort with Bosch will focus on developing redundant systems that can retrofit or be integrated into semi-trucks from any manufacturer, enabling them to operate autonomously. Bosch will provide key hardware components, such as advanced sensors and steering systems. According to Kodiak’s founder and CEO Don Burnette, these solutions can be installed either during the manufacturing process or added later by specialized upfitters.
“Our collaboration with Bosch will help us deliver scalable autonomous driving hardware that is modular, easy to service, and seamlessly integrated—whether installed at the factory or by third parties,” Burnette stated.

Paul Thomas, president of Bosch North America and head of Bosch Mobility Americas, views this partnership as a strategic opportunity to expand in the autonomous trucking market.
“By providing production-ready hardware, we’re supporting the next wave of autonomous trucking alongside Kodiak,” Thomas commented. “Kodiak’s driverless trucks are already operating commercially, and this partnership allows us to deepen our expertise in real-world autonomous vehicle needs while enhancing our offerings for the broader mobility ecosystem.”
Although both companies are eager to scale their solutions and capture more of the market, neither has specified when these new autonomous systems will be available for production or commercial use.
