Peter Schiff Advises Investors to Cash Out Bitcoin Gains for Gold

On Monday, economist and financial analyst Peter Schiff recommended that investors take advantage of the current Bitcoin rally by selling their holdings and reallocating the profits into gold.

Is Bitcoin’s Latest Rally Sustainable?

Schiff took to X to comment on Bitcoin’s recent surge past $94,500, attributing the rise to a “Venezuela-inspired” narrative. He cautioned that this momentum is more about hype than genuine strength, describing it as a “pumper” story rather than a sign of lasting growth.

“Don’t get swept up in the excitement,” Schiff warned. “Use this opportunity to sell and move your money into physical gold instead.”

Comparing Safe Havens: Bitcoin vs. Gold

Both Bitcoin and gold have performed well at the start of the year. However, their paths diverged in 2025: Bitcoin dropped roughly 5%, while gold experienced a dramatic increase of nearly 70%.

Strong Start for Bitcoin in 2026

Schiff’s remarks come after Bitcoin climbed to $94,700 on Monday, marking a more than 5% increase since the U.S. launched military actions in Venezuela late last week.

Earlier, Schiff—an outspoken supporter of precious metals—declared that the “cryptocurrency mania” had ended, observing that institutional investors are now shifting their focus to tangible assets.

According to Schiff, investors are moving away from speculative cryptocurrencies and seeking safety in physical assets, setting the stage for what he predicts will be an unprecedented bull market for precious metals.
