WisdomTree has withdrawn its XRP ETF application from the United States Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC). A filing dated January 6 shows the firm requested the withdrawal of its Form S-1 under Rule 477 of the Securities Act. The company stated it has decided not to proceed at this time.

WisdomTree has officially withdrawn its S-1 registration for a spot XRP ETF Today.

Filed just over a month ago (Dec 2024), the firm is pulling the plug and not proceeding with the offering at this time. No shares were sold.

No shares were issued, and no capital was raised under the registration. WisdomTree also requested the removal of all exhibits and amendments tied to the filing, which was originally submitted on December 2, 2024.

The fund was designed to offer direct exposure to XRP, the world’s fourth-largest digital currency with a market cap of about $137 billion.

XRP sold off sharply following the withdrawal. The token fell roughly 5% on the day as traders reacted. The move came despite continued strength in ETF inflows and no change to existing listed products.

Meanwhile, US spot XRP ETFs recorded $19.12 million in net inflows on Tuesday. Total cumulative inflows now exceed $1.25 billion just weeks after launch. Total net assets have climbed toward $1.62 billion.

Franklin Templeton’s XRPZ led the day with $7.35 million in inflows. Canary’s XRPC followed with $6.49 million, while Bitwise’s XRP fund added $3.54 million. No major XRP ETF reported net outflows.

The first US spot XRP ETF began trading in November 2025. Additional spot and trust-based products were introduced across the NASDAQ, NYSE, and CBOE venues. Five major issuers now have active XRP products trading in the US.

Outside the US, XRP exchange-traded products are already live across Europe and Asia. In contrast, while exiting the US filing process, WisdomTree continues to operate a physically backed XRP product in Europe.

According to TheBlock, there are still six ETF applications pending approval with the SEC. Of those six, two are spot ETFs filed by Grayscale and CoinShares, and the others are futures ETFs filed by Tuttle Capital and ProShares.
