RBA's Hauser states that the chances of rate reductions happening soon are 'extremely slim'
Reserve Bank Signals No Imminent Rate Cuts
Australia’s deputy Reserve Bank governor has delivered disappointing news for mortgage holders, indicating that a reduction in interest rates is not expected in the near future. Speaking exclusively with ABC News, Andrew Hauser stated that it remains the case that Australians have probably experienced the last of the rate cuts for this cycle.
Back in December, RBA governor Michele Bullock made it clear that the central bank was not considering lowering rates anytime soon, with the board only debating whether to maintain current rates or potentially increase them. Hauser reiterated that, at least for the foreseeable future, the chances of rate reductions remain very slim.
