Several European countries, led by the United Kingdom and Germany, are reportedly exploring ways to expand their military footprint in Greenland. According to Bloomberg, this move aims to demonstrate to US President Donald Trump that Europe is committed to safeguarding the Arctic region.

Sources indicate that Germany intends to suggest the creation of a collaborative NATO mission focused on defending the Arctic. In addition, UK Prime Minister Keir Starmer has called on allied nations to enhance their security efforts in the High North. He has recently engaged in discussions with leaders such as French President Emmanuel Macron and German Chancellor Friedrich Merz to address these security concerns.
