R&R Family of Companies encounters instability following leadership exit and issues related to payments
R&R Family of Companies Under Increased Scrutiny
The Pittsburgh-headquartered R&R Family of Companies is currently under the spotlight as concerns mount regarding payment delays and diminishing lender confidence. Despite several attempts to obtain a statement, the company has not responded to inquiries made on Monday.
This heightened uncertainty comes in the wake of a senior executive’s departure from one of R&R’s subsidiaries. Industry insiders, including carriers and restructuring experts, have reported that certain divisions may be experiencing operational challenges.
R&R’s workforce exceeds 500 employees, encompassing truck drivers, brokers, mechanics, and administrative staff across Pennsylvania, Tennessee, Texas, and North Carolina.
Although there has been no official confirmation of bankruptcy proceedings, recent conversations within the industry point to stricter credit conditions and operational difficulties affecting several R&R-owned businesses. These include R&R Express, RFX LLC, Taylor Express, Giant Energy Solutions, Paradigm Transportation, and GT Worldwide Logistics, all of which are active in the transportation and brokerage sectors.
On Sunday, Nate Lourie, CEO of RFX, announced via social media that his employment with the R&R-affiliated company had ended.
In recent months, the company has faced growing apprehension from carriers, independent operators, and credit providers, fueled by reports of delayed or missed payments.
Representatives for R&R Family of Companies did not reply to multiple requests for comment from FreightWaves on Monday, including phone calls to their Pittsburgh office and emails to company contacts.
