October 2025 New Home Sales Report
According to the latest figures from the U.S. Census Bureau and the Department of Housing and Urban Development, sales of newly built single-family homes in October 2025 reached a seasonally adjusted annual pace of 737,000 units. This figure represents a slight decrease of 0.1% (±14.2%) compared to September 2025, when sales were recorded at 738,000 units. However, compared to October 2024, new home sales have surged by 18.7% (±21.7%), up from 621,000 units a year earlier.
At the end of October 2025, the number of new homes available for sale, adjusted for seasonal variation, stood at 488,000. This total is nearly identical to the previous month’s estimate and marks a 1.7% (±5.8%) increase from the inventory reported in October 2024.
