Koch Companies Expands Warehousing and Fulfillment Capabilities with SOS Acquisition

Koch Companies, a leader in transportation and logistics, has strengthened its warehousing and retail fulfillment operations by acquiring Store Opening Solutions (SOS).

The financial details of the acquisition have not been disclosed.

SOS, headquartered in Murfreesboro, Tennessee, specializes in consolidating retail inventory. Previously, the company was owned by Marmon Holdings, a global industrial group under the Berkshire Hathaway (NYSE: BRK-B) umbrella. More information about SOS can be found on their official website.

“Welcoming SOS into the Koch Companies group is a significant milestone in our ongoing efforts to enhance and broaden our logistics, fulfillment, and transportation services,” stated Jeff Koch, CEO of Koch Companies. “By investing in the talented teams, infrastructure, and offerings that define both organizations, we are setting the stage for long-term growth and value for our customers.”

Based in Minneapolis, Koch operates a diverse portfolio that includes trucking, leasing, maritime services, and a major third-party logistics (3PL) presence in the Midwest. The company’s warehousing footprint, currently at 3 million square feet, will double as a result of this acquisition.

Koch has maintained an operations team at the SOS facility since 1999, supporting some of the largest retail brands in the United States.
