Mexico Confirms Commitment to North American Trade Agreement
Despite ongoing uncertainty surrounding the future of the trade agreement between the United States, Mexico, and Canada, Mexico’s Economy Minister Marcelo Ebrard emphasized on Thursday that the pact remains solid. He expressed confidence that all three nations are on track to reach an agreement to renew the deal.
“We are currently reviewing the treaty, and our goal is to complete this process by July 1,” Ebrard stated during President Claudia Sheinbaum’s regular morning briefing. “Significant progress has been made on the issues important to each country involved.”
This marks Ebrard’s first public statement on the matter since renewed skepticism about the agreement was voiced by U.S. President Donald Trump.
