Trump claims Dimon did not propose a position at the Fed
Trump Plans Legal Action Against JPMorgan Chase
On Saturday, former U.S. President Donald Trump announced his intention to file a lawsuit against JPMorgan Chase & Co. within the next two weeks. He accused the financial institution of closing his accounts following the events of January 6.
Trump also dismissed a recent Wall Street Journal article that alleged he had offered JPMorgan CEO Jamie Dimon the position of Federal Reserve chairman, labeling the report as untrue. He clarified that Dimon was never considered for the Treasury secretary role either, emphasizing that Scott Bessent currently serves in that capacity.
Additionally, Trump criticized The Wall Street Journal for not reaching out to him prior to publishing the story. He argued that the publication's reputation relies on more thorough fact-checking practices.
