Bitcoin in freefall today near $115 and could fall further
- Bitcoin enters August with a consolidation trend
- BTC rally loses steam below $120
- Support at $112 and $109
Bitcoin (BTC), currently trading around $115.165,30, remains in a narrow price range with signs of weakening bullish momentum. According to a recent analysis by 10x Research, the cryptocurrency may face further difficulties throughout August, a historically negative month for the asset.
According to the report, only three of the last ten Augusts saw positive performance for BTC. In the others, losses ranged between 5% and 20%, reinforcing the trend of seasonal weakness that worries investors.
Another point worth highlighting is the reduction in capital flows into the Bitcoin network, an indicator that played a significant role in price performance throughout 2025. Although accumulated inflows exceeded US$1 trillion this year, the 30-day average flow fell from US$62,4 billion to US$59,3 billion, suggesting the beginning of a possible consolidation phase.
Bitcoin (BTC) Price Analysis
Bitcoin's current movement around the $115 range raises concerns among technical analysts. If the cryptocurrency loses support at this level, the next relevant support point is located near $111. This zone has the potential to act as a stabilization point in the short term.
The $115 region has been acting as an important psychological support in recent days, but decreasing volume and weakening demand could pave the way for a sharper decline. If confirmed, the correction to $111 could represent a natural pullback within BTC's current consolidation cycle.
This level also coincides with previous accumulation areas observed on the daily chart, increasing the likelihood of buyers returning to this price range. If there's a positive reaction and support holds off selling pressure, the asset could form a solid foundation for a gradual resumption of the uptrend in the coming days or weeks.
