Ethereum Whale Liquidates 30,000 ETH Worth $88M and Moves About $30M to AAVE for Lending
According to COINOTAG News, a whale address labeled “pension-usdt.eth” executed two sizable on-chain moves around noon, triggering a liquidation event. The first action closed an ETH short position, liquidating 30,000 ETH, roughly $88 million, while the move realized a loss of about $285,000.
The same source notes an outbound transfer: approximately $26.743 million was withdrawn from a contract account, leaving the contract balance at zero. Arkham on-chain monitoring adds that the address extracted about $10 million from Hyperliquid over the weekend and redirected it into AAVE for lending to earn stable yield, with total AAVE lending now near $30 million.
In the last 30 days, the whale has booked about $14.59 million in profit via swing trading on Hyperliquid, deploying a low-leverage, short-cycle approach with an average holding period of roughly 23 hours, focused mainly on BTC and ETH. Since October, cumulative profit has surpassed $24.78 million.
