The U.S. Senate may advance the review of the Digital Asset Market Structure Bill in JanuaryAccording to Odaily, the U.S. Senate Banking Committee is expected to consider the Digital Asset Market Structure Bill in the second week of January. Cody Carbone, CEO of the digital asset advocacy organization The Digital Chamber, stated that the Senate will hold at least one hearing on market structure legislation in the second week of January. The bill passed the U.S. House of Representatives in July and is expected to grant the Commodity Futures Trading Commission (CFTC) greater authority to regulate digital assets. Early drafts of the Senate bill indicate that the CFTC and the Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) will collaborate more closely on cryptocurrency regulation.
