Crypto bank AMINA obtains Hong Kong license and will launch institutional-grade trading services
Jinse Finance reported that Swiss cryptocurrency bank AMINA Bank AG ("AMINA Bank") has received regulatory approval in Hong Kong to offer cryptocurrency trading and custody services to institutional clients in the region. At the same time, AMINA Bank emphasized that it is the first international bank to obtain such a license. AMINA Bank stated that this "Type 1 license upgrade" granted by the Hong Kong Securities and Futures Commission (SFC) will help fill the gap in the institutional cryptocurrency market in Hong Kong—previously, due to the region's high regulatory compliance standards, the market has faced limited access to bank-grade cryptocurrency services. With this license, AMINA Bank's Hong Kong subsidiary will be able to provide services for 13 cryptocurrencies, including bitcoin, ethereum, USDC, USDT, and several DeFi tokens.
